SF Rocker / Jack rails

Got the jack rails done....now to figure out the shoulder bolts to use for the SF can and step mount.

Greg, you ever figure out the right shoulder bolts?

If you under drill the holes and then open them up with a square file you can use carriage bolts to mount the rails. That way there's no bolt head protruding on the outside to catch things. FWIW

Just curious why you would want to use shoulder bolts to mount the rails? Whenever I've had to use them in the past they've always been pricey where carriage bolts are pennies by comparison.

So that running boards and can holders can be mounted. Of course carriage bolts work great if you just want to use jack rails.

MSG sells the special machined shoulder bolts for $12 ea.
They use 3 on each side, along with 6 ea.standard grade 8's on each side.
