The Military Transport Association (MTA) was founded 1972 in New Jersey web site

The MTA is also a founding chapter of both the MVPA and earlier MVCC.

The Military Transport Association is dedicated to the education and preservation of historic to present-day military vehicles. Members enjoy restoring, displaying, and operating military vehicles of all types, from bicycles to tanks. The MTA celebrates and interprets the contributions and technological advancements that military vehicles have brought to global conflicts that shaped the modern world.

But trucks and Jeeps aren’t all we do! Join today and participate with us at our annual Toys for Tots train ride and toy drive, help at our annual Swap Meet at the Sussex County Fairgrounds web site Attend our special events for veterans. During the course of a year, MTA members participate in several town parades with their vehicles on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, and Veteran’s Day, including up to eleven parades on Memorial Day weekend alone. The organization also continues to directly financially support veterans who have bravely served, fought, and made sacrifices for our country.

The monthly meetings at the American Legion in Whippany, NJ present another opportunity for members to enjoy camaraderie, share information, and learn maintenance tips and fixes for military vehicles. Go to to download membership applications.

You do not have to own a military vehicle to be part of this exciting and active hobby - you just need a desire to do your part in keeping our military history alive. All you need to join the MTA is to fill out this membership form, include your dues payment, and mail it in. You'll receive a great monthly newsletter full of military history, vehicle maintenance tips, and club news, along with the satisfaction of knowing that your time and dues are supporting our veterans and the preservation of the vehicles that brought them home.
