Best of the West Equipment show, up and coming MV destinsation

Post by junking » Sat May 28, 2022 7:05 pm

Greetings,

For those if you in California, The Best if the West show in Santa Margarita is quickly becoming a great show for military vehicles. It is held every year on the memorial day weekend, but not on memorial day.

The show combines many interests in one venue that make is an amazing and up and coming show. The venue is located between LA and SF on an historic 1000 acre ranch with easy access to highway 101. The ranch has an old Disney steam than and miles of track. It also had a runway big enough for medium sized Wwii bombers.

I have been attending this show for at leastb7 years. The venue is Farm equipment and military vehicles. This year the turn out of military vehicals was amazing. Today there were over 40 military vehicals of all sizes. We have even had armored prior to COVID.

This show is really going to be ago to show. The promotion, Tom Maden, is very eager to please contingent and easy to work with.

There is plenty of room for dry camping and in previous years plenty of room for trail rides and exploring the ranch.

There are also 100s of tractor of all dates.

I really look forward to seeing this show grow.

Hope to see you there.

To grow MV participation, go to our website www.MVCCNews.net to find the contact info for our Newsletter Editor, Webmaster, and Central Coast Vice President. Send them 2023 event info early in the year so it can get into the website and several monthly print newsletters so folks can plan. Lots going on Memorial Day weekend.

Best to send it in two forms - a calendar listing that doesn't need much editing by the two editors, that looks similar to other listings you can see on the MVCC News tab where you can view archived newsletters. Meaning not a big article. Then include the makings of an article like you wrote here. Send these to all three so they can see who was copied. The V.P. will probably mention the event in his monthly article. Some pictures from past events would be nice. He will mention this in his presentation at the Camp Plymouth MVCC member meeting. But the big impact will be when 400 members see it in the newsletter.

Also put info on this forum, on the Events forum, The Southern CA MVCC forum, and on the Upcoming Events forum on www.SteelSoldiers.com. If the promoter has an advertising person, tell him or her we have picked up visitors and possibly some MV participants at our swap meet/shows by advertising on California car show calendars. There are quite a few of those. Many MVers are not in the organized hobby and no doubt some do not see our website or these forums.

Best to show a point-of-contact. Either the promoter or a MV person who wants to be the middleman.
