Due to the ongoing Caldor Fire, the Amador County Fairgrounds is now an evacuation center. At this time the MV event tenting and parking area is moving to the upper field. Please do not enter the fairgrounds at the Empire St Gate. Only the gate at 18501 Sherwood St will be open for our event. No changes at the 49'er are planned. To check on the smoke conditions please go to www.alertwildfire.org for real time webcam views.

Let us all remember that the people there may have lost everything to this fire. This is a moment for the hobby to bring a little distraction for some and maybe some joy to the kids.

Map added showing where the new spot is.

More info will be published. It will be a longer walk to and from the RV campground, so a good time to bring your jeep or Mule! There is almost no parking in the RV park other than in paid sites but it if you drive a smallish MV it will be easier to find a camper with some temporary space for your MV while you are walking around shopping, than if you show up in a big pickup. Everybody wants a MV in their campsite!

The good news is the Caldor fire is not burning towards Hwy 49. The excursion to the Black Chasm Cavern in Volcano is still on. Of course the bad news is the fire is in the Tahoe Basin at Meyers although as of Sept 1 afternoon it doesn't look like any structures have been burned there. Hwys 50 and 88 have been impacted but obviously it's impossible to know what event week will be like. If coming from Tahoe and Nevada, check road conditions before you go.

Nice clear day at Camp Plymouth. Dropped the club trailer and bringing the GPW up. Looks like a California Classic week. Vendors are setting up and wednesday we start shopping.
Please remember there is no parking inside the RV park. If you park in a site that is not yours you will be towed.

See you there.
