CAMP PLYMOUTH SPRING 2020 MEET HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO THE VIRUS. SEE ANNOUNCEMENT BY MVCC PRESIDENT ON THE EVENTS FORUM HERE:

MVCC BOARD IS DISCUSSING HOW TO DEAL WITH THE KIT RAFFLE. STAY TUNED.

SEE YOU AT THE SEPTEMBER 2020 VERSION OF CAMP PLYMOUTH! CURRENTLY PLANNED FOR SEPT 15-20

For anybody wanting a complete, new, in the crate, MD JUAN 1942 GPW Maxi-Kit With Frame for building a jeep or for reselling complete or parting out, one will be raffled off to a lucky winner in April 2020 in Plymouth, California at the Camp Plymouth Swap Meet & MV Gathering April 14-19, 2020! This was supposed to happen at the April 2019 meet but the crate was late getting out of the Port of Oakland and was delivered to the MVCC the week after. So rather than hold a raffle for something people couldn't inspect or touch and not knowing its condition, the club decided to move it to 2020. This kit in the crate will be on display at the event probably from mid-week.

This raffle is open to MVCC members only as a member benefit. If you are not a current member, download the application from www.MVCCNews.net and send it in. Regular membership is $40 per year which includes 12 print newsletters of around 20 pages and rights to run free classified for sale/wanted ads. The E-membership is only $30 per year and you get the newsletter electronically (color photos) via your ultra super top secret password to the Member Only page on the website. There is a three-year discount deal and a business membership that includes a business card-sized ad in 12 newsletters that reach over 500 people. The $5 Associate membership is for spouses and children under 18.

The MVCC is the largest regional MV club in North America and includes many members from out of state. The non-profit corporation MVCC is mostly funded by memberships and does not make a profit on camping fees at these big events. No admission or parking fees either. We make a little on merchandise sales and we have an annual fundraising raffle at the April meets on Friday evening. Please support the promoter of Camp Plymouth!

This drawing is of a MB kit but the kit we have represents an early 1942 GPW. Sometimes sellers call these Master Kit with Frame. They sell for $8,000 or more:

The reason this big prize is available is because the 2019 event was sponsored by the repro jeep parts manufacturer MD Juan. The MVCC traded name-in-title and other advertising rights for this Maxi-Kit, with the raffle providing the mechanism to generate the sponsorship fee due the MVCC. So we don't know how much this fee will turn out to be! Please support the club so it can put money back into member and event benefits.

The Maxi-Kit raffle will be Friday at 6 pm, separate from and before the annual fundraising raffle. The kit raffle will have unique $5.00 tickets and a maximum of 2,000 to be printed. The rules will be in the February MVCC News newsletter. Tickets will be available after the newsletter hits the mailboxes.

Here is an example of assembled parts except the springs and five wheels and tires are not shown. Our kit is painted OD:

The Maxi-Kit is the loaded version that includes frame. Some crate panels will be removed so parts are visible. Imagine how a kit would look as-is in a man-cave garage! Regulars to these swap meets know many or all of the parts needed to complete this jeep will be available there, even as late as Saturday. The next big parts buying event in the West will be at our annual Fall swap meet.

These new crates are fork-liftable on all sides. They can be transported on their sides:

This is not technically their "Kit-in-a-Crate" or "jeep-in-a-crate". That is an old style, all wood crate that is an option.
