At the April meet the MVCC Board voted to make JoAnn a full board member rather than an appointee to the board. This means that she will be doing the reservations for our meets until she steps down. As John says, everyone who had a reservation at the April meet will keep that reservation next year unless they notify JoAnn that they will not be able to make the meet or have decided to give up the space.

There is definitely a shortage of cabins at the 49er and there is a waiting list for them. If you want to be considered for a cabin please email JoAnn and let her know what you would like. Email makes it easier to keep track of rather than just a phone call. A very good alternative to the cabins are local RV and trailer rentals. We had several members take advantage of these services this year and everything I've heard indicates they worked out well.

When the final decision as to where our Fall meet will be is made we will post that in the Newsletter, on the MVCC Website, and here on the "G". Right now the reservation system hasn't been set up but that will happen as soon as we know the meet details.

Overall, very pleased with the event, the layout, the RV resort, and the organizers. Our Dodge Boys area at the entrance was a little congested, but we had a bunch of MV's, and parking was tight, but it worked. In the first 2 cabins we had 3 command cars, a MB, a mule, a Ben Hur and an MBT. I was kind of hoping the resort would let us park in some of their spots across from the office, but no. I was glad we rented the RV spot behind the cabins for selling and display. Since we were in view of the office window, I figure if we got out of this meet without the staff having a problem with everything, I mean something we did, we're in good shape.
Tim, you guys laid out a great display for folks entering the main RV Village driveway. Well done! Thanks for bringing all that hardware!

First off I have to say we were very happy with our Spring meet experience. Zero complaints. This year we decided to bring our cabover camper with the Rokon Trail breaker on the front bumper and flat tow our M38A1 from Oregon. We were told last year that we couldn’t camp in out in our 28’ race car trailer. Is that correct? I noticed that a few groups were staying in car trailers. Is the ban only for tents or and are trailers allowed? I can fit more stuff in the trailer and skip the camper if it’s allowed.

My wife say if another one shows up I’ll be contacted by her attorney.

I hope the 2020 rules in the RV village will favor the widest variety of camping equipment types that encourage bringing MVs, because it is a MV event. That relates to enclosed car hauler trailers and deuce/5 tons. Officially the 49er allows RVs, travel trailers, toy haulers with living quarters, pop up tent trailers, pickups with campers including camper shells. No sleeping in a pickup bed unless it has a cover designed for camping.

Hopefully our organizers will lobby for the 49er loosely enforcing their rules to accommodate camping in deuces, 5-tons, and car hauler trailers. The more of our people they can accommodate, the more revenue for them. But it's their place and we aren't so big we can book the whole thing and have modded rules. But if I had a deuce or enclosed trailer I want to sleep in, I'd rig up a kitchen and bunk so that if that becomes the requirement, I'm all set.

Of course the fairgrounds camp area is an option for that kind of camping.

Important that we let our organizers work on the terms and rules and not everybody call the 49er office to complain. We don't want to be a PITA because we want to be invited back and with terms as favorable as possible.

Have the dates for the Plymouth spring meet in April 2020 been set?

No, it's APRIL 14-19, 2020 at Plymouth similar to April 2019. As usual, Tuesday is "set up day" and Sunday is a "pull out day, not a show day." This is per the announcement at the meet last week.

Sunday before is Easter and Wednesday is the tax return deadline. Plan ahead!!!!

That's good to know. The MVCC website is advertising the incorrect date. I'm sure they'll fix that now.

OK, let's make this easy and forget all the dates there are bouncing around here. The meet is the week that starts with Easter Sunday. It's more important when you're going to arrive and that's up to you. Pick the day you want to arrive, fill in the reworked application that will be on the MVCC website or in the Newsletter, include a check for the full amount of your stay and send it in to JoAnn. The rates have gone up a few dollars so wait for the new application. We will begin accepting applications after the first of the year.

If you were in a site in either the 49er or the fairgrounds in April of 2019 your name will still be on it unless you call (or email) at let us know that you would like to request a move or you will be unable to make it so that we can make the best use of the sites we're allocated, There will be a four night minimum at the 49er but the fairgrounds are wide open night wise.

For those subscribed to this thread I just want to say there are details about the April 2020 Camp Plymouth over on the Events forum. Here is the link:

Please pass the word about the three MV showcase themes to those who own those vehicle types. Most of us know people who are not MVCC members and don't read the newsletter, and they might not look at forums like this or SteelSoldiers.com, or see our listings on online event calendars. Invite them!
