hey c.j.thanks for stepping up.if i read right,i looks like someone is already planning a convoy or two.if i do attend, which is a 90% chance,i would like to be TAIL END CHARLIE if one is needed.i have a good working prc 77.plus i have never been at the ass end of a convoy before.randy parents are going to be big shoes to fill.but i can handle it.also it would be cool if members camping in army tents, that we all camp near each other, making it look like a large army bivouac.set up displays if they want.i most likely will. HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!

Updates are on the event thread on the EVENTS forum. We are doing very well with camping reservations in the RV Village and the Hagerty Tent Sector at the fairgrounds. She will put your name on specific sites in both areas.

There is a post on the WWII jeep for sale forum about the new-in-the-crate MD Juan GPW Maxi-Kit that will be raffled on Friday. It shows what parts are in it plus I posted a lot of photos on the original post and added some important details. Here is a link:

Lots of good info is on the event page on www.MVCCNews.net accessed from the event calendar.

One change is there was going to be an official open house on Friday, advertised by the RV Village in the area. Dave P. learned that when the office schedules one of these, there is no driving around allowed. It's like a static show for whatever group is in there. Since this won't work well for a group like ours, the open house has been cancelled. Our commuters from hotel and home plus the public are welcome to come and go any day, so the reality is every day will be an open house!

Reminder that there is a large visitor parking lot on the fairgrounds side of our meet. Enter via the fairgrounds gate just down the road from the 49er entrance. There is practically no visitor parking in the RV Village for non-campers and parking on the roads in front of campsites is not allowed unless picking up or dropping off something. Commuters from home and hotel should park at the fairgrounds and either shop and tire-kick in the Hagerty Tent Sector village, or walk the path next to the arena and Camp Patriot into the RV Village.

There is information and official rules about the jeep kit raffle on www.MVCCNews.net accessed from the event page. One correction - there are no pre-sales of tickets. Sales start on Thursday of event week at the MVCC Quartermaster booth.

Also I just added a lot of kit photos and details on the thread over on the WWII jeeps for sale forum. Check out the original post. Here is the link:

Some new info about the kit and the MD Juan sponsorship is on the thread on the Events forum here on the G.

Unfortunately the jeep kit was hung up in customs in Oakland and sent back to MD Juan for reasons we do not know. There will be no jeep kit raffle.

There will, however, be the annual MVCC fundraising raffle Friday evening during and after the dinner at the Clubhouse. We welcome donations of items for men, women, and children. Bring them to the event headquarters and quartermaster booth just past the 49er RV Village office. Don't forget your business card or paper with your name on it so you can be recognized.
