Vietnam Vets Cruise Aboard SS Jeremiah O'Brien CANCELLED

This cruise that you've read about in our newsletter and website has today been cancelled due to weak ticket sales. FYI they are adding a new cruise to their website this week and it will be a wine cruise 8/21 with apparently ten wineries and their wine club members. I would think anyone could get on this one way or another. The only other cruises planned are the Saturday and Sunday Fleet Week cruises in October.

Regarding getting aboard this great museum ship, we have our MVPA convention Fisherman's Wharf bus excursion on Friday 8/12 leaving from Pleasanton. This has two a la carte options: touring the O'Brien and USS Pampanito sub, and another option of a bay cruise aboard a Red & White Fleet boat. There are only a few slots left for this, and the winery excursion Thursday and the USS Hornet Museum excursion on Saturday, so get on the horn to MVPA to book them now.

I assume you will hear from them about a refund. This decision just happened. I heard about it today and their website hadn't even been updated yet.

Good idea about going for a MV drive, Pete. How about over to that railroad we talked about once? It could be publicized on the MVCC website, in issue #7 of the newsletter, on www.steelsoldiers.com, and here.
