It'd have to be spring or fall (Mar-May, Sept-Nov). Other times it's too hot or cold or windy.

Success for a MV event involves the "fun factor" plus not conflicting with big MV events, like the annual Camp Plymouth in mid-April. Be two weeks away from that, bare minimum, keeping in mind it starts on Tuesday or Wednesday for many. The Fall version is mid-September, same place in 2023, although fewer people from SoCal attend that meet so less worry about a conflict. Probably October is more reliable for your event due to heat. SoCal people can comment on possible conflicts closer to you.
