Cardboard pad for the firewall

Post by awddouglas » Sun Mar 12, 2023 7:55 am

Simple question about the cardboard pad that fastens to the firewall under the dash. There wasnt one on my command when i got it so i have bought a repro. Do the studs that fasten it to the firewall have the domed side on the inside of the cab or does the domed side go in the engine bay?

Thanks

Andrew

Should be inside. The head of the fastener helps spread the load on the cardboard part so it doesn't just pull through.

Also just think of boots kicking the studs out if they were domed in the engine compartment side...
Wish I took time to install this but it's a lot easier to wash out without worrying about it.
