got a question for the group
On the 3/4 ton dodges, were there two different length rear axle shafts?
I mean, the very early 3/4 tons used the smaller ring and pinion.
So they MUST have required a slightly longer axle shaft to reach into the housing further to engage the side gears?
All 3/4 ton trucks have the same track width, right? so different axle lengths had to be from smaller R&P to the larger R&P
Where as when dodge went to the larger R&P the axle shaft needed to be a tad shorter?
Are there two numbers in the parts book?
One longer than the other?
I was going thru my parts and I had a spare pair of 3/4 ton axle shafts abd one is longer than the other.
It’s either that or I got an old M37 long shaft in there maybe?
3/4 ton rear axle shaft lengths.. different?

Re: 3/4 ton rear axle shaft lengths.. different?
The WC62/63 series had one axle with different length shafts, as the pumpkin had to be offset for the front driveshaft to connect up allowing for a straight shot to the rear axle.
Could it be that you have a WC62/63 shaft laying around?
