New 1/2T WC introduction post
Good afternoon! Just wanted to stop in and say hello and introduce myself. I recently re-enlisted in the Army and used some funds to purchase a 1941 WC-4. It’s been drilled on, welded on, has a Chevrolet motor, a Muncie trans, a Tulsa winch, and converted to 12V. Truck starts and runs great. I run it around town usually once a week. I’m currently in the process of tearing down all the modern(ish) stuff on it and making it look a lil more period correct.

Welcome, SS! Good looking truck and you deserve it with your reenlistment! Welcome aboard, and there's lots to learn on here! I started in 2004 here on the Gee, and about 90% of anything I know about MV's, came from this site.

Thank you for the warm welcome! 8 years as a Combat Engineer in the USMC and then came to the Army. Was 11B for 5 years and recently reclassed over to 74D CBRNE. Im down at Fort Benning if there are any other collectors in GA!

Interesting career moves! I had some ex Marines, (I know, there are no ex Marines), come into the Army, but from Engineer to Infantry to CRBNE, I would say is unusual.

Haha yeah it’s been a wild ride. I was thinking about career choices and longevity. I’m at 3rd Ranger Batt and their CBRNE section does some super cool stuff. I knew a bunch of the guys and when my contract was up I decided to re-class. It was definitely a good move. I don’t know if I would like being CBRNE in the big Army though… I hear horror stories

If you want longevity you will go to cook and baker school. Or 25B; IT Specialist. Or 68 series; Nurse; Huge demand for those.

Absolutely! My WC has the civilian gauges. Definitely gonna have to run some detectors across them!

Nah- no Facebook, Instagram, etc... I have a LinkedIn account, but that's about it.
I like to keep my trucks original as much as possible, but if you're happy with your re-powered WC, consider keeping it that way.
