WC56
Electrical question: I have had an electrical problem from the beginning. I have replaced the points three times. I have put in a new condenser, new coil and just put in a replacement voltage regulator (solid state) and thought it was fixed. The truck ran fine for almost 75 miles, no issues and then it died. Started breaking down, back firing and then dead just like in the past. If the voltage regulator gauge is faulty will it contribute to the points burning up even if it is in the off position? Any help appreciated. Jon

Re: WC56
Jon- I will only point this out due to how widespread this is known- terrible offshore condensers! May I ask if you replaced it with a solid 'Blue Streak' model? I have the part number around if you need it. I had a very similar issue with my WC52- in fact, the condenser failed while it was parked! I use a SS regulator as well...

Re: WC56
The replacement has no markings on it and came from the local auto parts store.

Yes, sir! I did the same. The reason I laugh is that it boggled my mind that workers pump these things out without a nomenclature on the metal part. Lets say that you work in an auto parts store, and find one without a box. How in the world does one know which application the condenser belongs to?
I believe that the wire cover actually has the nomenclature on it.
Jon- I would be surprised to see you exchange the condenser and it not run well after that. And then find a NOS set of Blue Streaks from your favorite MV vendor..

Replaced the condenser and still nothing. Getting a coil next. Regards the Blue Streak, the local store carried them and stopped a couple years ago.

Re: WC56
The "Points" did it. Apparently the new points I put in a few weeks ago are the culprit. The tension (I assume pre set by the factory) was/is pretty tight and the little rubber or plastic bumper wore down and the point sealed together. It is fixed for now.
