T215 Engine and T214 (early) the same? T214 engine for my WC26 project possible?

Post by bochelim » Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:23 am

Hi all together from Germany!

As some may already know I am looking for a T215 engine for my Dodge WC26 project.
However, I live in Europe and finding such an engine here is almost impossible.
A nice user made me aware that the early T214 engines are identical and I can therefore use the distributor, oil pump, etc. for such an early T214.
Unfortunately, I am not a real expert on engines, so I wanted to ask here if someone can confirm this statement again before I buy an early T214.

If someone has a T215 for sale, I would of course also be interested ;-)
I would also put up with the high delivery costs. :-P

Kind regards,

Stefan

Vintage Power Wagons has a barn full of engines for $750 each. Call them and see. Last time I was there they had at least 50 of them of all models.

Hi, Cylinder block assembly with pistons is part number 870011 for both the T215 and T214 engines
It also happens to be the same number for T211 after engine serial number 42001
Crank shaft is part number 870001 for same as above
Head is number 870066
Here is where it gets different, They T215 and T214 use different connecting rods. part number 868898 and 868899 for the T215
And 954376 and 954377 for the T214
The external engines are identical, The just changed bore and stoke,
