1/2 ton command car parcel shelf

Hi Guys,

Im restoring a WC-6 command car and my rear seat position is forward and requires the second parcel shelf fitted but mines missing, does anyone have one still installed on their 1/2 ton command car.
Its the section that fits between the fitted parcel shelf and the rear of the back seat.
Im looking for dimensions and possibly pictures.

Hello,

I haven't heard of such a shelf before, but I am not yet too familiar with the half ton Command Car, although I have 2 that need total restoration.
Does the shelf pictured interfere with rear passengers sitting on the bench seat ?

Hopefully someone with one will post some information !!

Hi Ray,

With the seat in the forward position its far enough back from the front seat to be comfortable and will give you more room in the trunk..this model also has metal brackets welded either side of the trunk for a shelf, factory fitted, and does not allow the seat to be put in the rear position.ill post pictures as i go, i guess ill have to have one manufactured myself.

Hi Guys , sorry meant to do this a while back,but here’s the fabrication of the rear parcel shelf for my WC-24,I also had to replace rear left shelf bracket .
Looks great and I now have loads of room in the trunk.

Glad to actually get it fitted in place,makes it look more complete,still need to fix the rear seat frame base as the shelf moved it forward slightly,maybe with the floor not being 100 percent flat ? so I’ll be placing some spacers in there and longer bolts.

Yes working away helps having time to post updates for sure .
I’ll gradually update my WC-24 build progress as
well,it’s pretty much finished and ironing out a few small problems one at a time.
I’m now starting to restore a 1952 M38,ground up again,I think this time I’ll make use of a sandblasting company to save me the hassle .
