Hello, I have a 1943 WC62 I have been putting together for the last 5 or 6 years. The bed is in fair shape, but the circle indention for the tie down
on the drivers side was rotted out on the bottom. I cut it out but for the life of me I can't shape it. Does anyone have a half or whole cut out
from a wrecked bed you can sell me? This has brought the project to a stop, and I'd really like to finish and start driving it. Please PM me if you
have anything. Thank you, Mike

No but find a steel dog bowl the same size and weld that in. It will be very difficult to get an original; I had to replace the rears on mine.

Thanks for your reply. I found a guy not far from me who is able to hammer one out.

Hello,
Keep us updated on your repairs and restoration !!!
You have a great rare truck !!
I was going to say, you can cut a piece of 18 gauge metal a little longer than the missing piece, and hammer it along and into the good part to get your shape and form ,
then tack weld it in. Weld it in from there, then use Metal to Metal metallic filler over your ground down welds. That would be a perfect repair, and you can sand it to the correct appearance.
That should work.
Best Regards,
Ray
