1/2 ton cc tail lights

Have a question for the more knowledgeable with regard to the position of the rear tail lights on 1/2 ton command cars
Ive seen pics where the light is recessed and others where it protrudes obviously this maybe which way around the mount bracket. Is installed
Which would be correct on a. T215 CC ?
