Re: WC54 For Sale in Texas
I used to own this ambulance, it is very complete...wished I had not sold it...If you end up with it, I know the history behind it from the time it come back here in 1968. It has a VERY interesting history, backed up by markings found on the ambulance..

Re: WC54 For Sale in Texas
Is it a ETO bring back? Or a Ft. Dix surplus vehicle? Thanks for the info.

Well, I'm interested in it. I'm just waiting on the owner for some answers to my questions.

ETO bring back in 1968, but it came out of US war storage. Still had all the US markings on it to include the storage stenciling.

I talked to Ryan yesterday on the phone and he was puzzled. He has three Dodge Ambulances and he thinks the WC64 Knock Down Ambulance is the one he bought from you but he is not quite sure. This one is a 1944 WC54.

I talked to Ryan a couple of days ago and he has checked his records and yes this is the ambulance he bought from you. Several years ago?

Re: WC54 For Sale in Texas
The Wc54 is living in Ohio now And I have jumped on it trying to get it running. The water pump was terribly worn out. New on on now. The rear and has a broken axle shaft, new axle has arrived. Starter was worn so so badly, it is seeking to be reborn as I write this. The engine wouldn't turn over because of the worn starter, I found a NOS started for cheap and now it kinda runs with new wires, plugs, points cleaned and carb traded out with one I have had for 20+ years. Brakes are a disaster at the moment but after I rob the local mini mart I will have the funds to buy, buy, buy again. I just love this old stuff. Hoping to trailer it to the Conneaut Ohio D-Day Event this weekend if I can get it to go into reverse. Would someone come over and lay hands on the truck to help heal the transmission?
