Hi Oz,

Good luck on the new home and shop build! Been there and done that...my body still aches from when I built my own home.

I'm with you on the project thing. I think that most project guys move on to the next...well, project. I have completed ground up restorations on a 1955 Chevrolet, 1968 Carmaro RS Convertible and a couple of early 1960's Impalas. Sold them all as too nice for me to drive...

I now like to keep the military trucks, but rarely drive them once completed. Hope to change that some day soon.

Again, good luck!
Zeph

Zeph,
Thanks much. As you say it has been busy, and it's gonna get more so once construction starts, but I'm looking forward to it. I've learned a lot and hope to employ some of it in the shop set up, although there is that budget thing. I appreciate all that you have done for the community, and look forward to posting again soon when I get back on the WC.

Thanks again my friend.

Last post for a while as I am hauling the WC to TN to go into my steel building. Just this and one more trip and I'm there for good. I can't wait to start building. I loaded up everything that is loose and strapper her down, so to speak. The smalls are all boxed up until I can work on it again. I was able to pick up my seat bottom (the truck's that is) on Friday, just before loading up. I have the WC, 7 tires for a WC and Scout Car, tractor implements and the back of the Dually is full of GPW parts. What a load. I have an empty covered trailer from TN to NM probably on 6/7 Sept on the way back. Let me know via email of you need a haul.

Even Bert came by to wish me luck on the trip, although he is not going with me. :(

Trip complete. The barn is getting full with GPW and WC items. I unloaded another covered trailer of boxes and parts so it is actually more full now. I was able to mow about 3 acres before returning to NM for the last load. The land will make a nice staging area for local MVPA events and convoys into town when we get to that point. Will start the workshop/clean room on 1 Oct. Can't wait.

Oz, the scenery in TN looks quite a bit different from NM! Great looking piece of land and (of course) barn full of pretty OD. Glad to see you're making progress on the move! :D

Nice propert for sure!!

Already installed lawn with that natural hay field. Makes for the best lawn later (I think)
Because the grass type is so tough and will weather the droughts. Probably gonna have a lot of weeds and clover for awhile but it will
Be nice . No laying down sod strips for you!

That garage is gonna fill up fast, buddy!!

Where are you staying as you start the house construction? Did you buy a camper too?

Good grass, moderate weeds, but if I keep mowing before things go to seed, I'll have less weeds each year. Gonna sow some clover in the spring to help with the nitrogen and only do sod inside the back yard fence once that is done. I have a line on a 16' camper and that will be my hold out until the workshop and living area are complete. Move into that and build the house from there. Phase 1 is complete, phase 2 starts 1 Oct and not sure when phase 3 the (house) begins. About 16 months of hard manual labor and THEN I can say i'm retired

The garage is already 1/2 full bottom to top half way back. It has been a lot of work hauling WW2 stuff to TN, but has saved a few thousand so far. Each time I have visited the land, I was able to coordinate a few more things like electricity, water, septic etc. I should be able to plug right in upon arrival.

Quite a bit different for sure. The humidity in the summer months will take a bit to get used to, but I am really looking forward to the 4 seasons, trees, water in the creek, and proximity to so many MV events. Thanks for the support.

Sad I know, but can't work on it for more than a year. Too many projects piling up.
