Put plastic age on one of the mains and torqued it down…did not flatten at all..

Looks like a rebuild is required.

Well, I must say you all know your stuff…

Got the engine out and apart…on the crankshaft was written 20/30…rod bearings are indeed 20 over. Main bearings ordered by the invoice were 30 over..however the mains installed were 20 over…

Ordering new crank and bearings.

Will keep you posted…thanks for all your input..

Bearings would be undersize.

Update…did a lower end rebuild…assembled everything and reinstalled..oil pressure now pushing 50 psi.

Cannot get it to sustain running though…starts, revs up a bit then shuts off.

We are thinking carberator or not enough fuel pressure .any ideas?

Fuel pressure is ok 5-7lbs

So we think it may vacuum pump in carb…put hand over carb air intake and it started and idled…pumping accelerator had no effect.

Any ideas?
