Nice job Zeph. Not too shabby for an amateur seamster! :D

Ralphie I’ve may be confused but it appears he approves...

Thanks Tom. I am enjoying it. Trying not to be too anal, but that's tough for me. lol It has giving me an appreciation for those that sew for sure!

Yes, Ralphie is getting used to it. Maybe I can make him a canvas collar if that's possible....

Finished up two more of the Command Car top bow covers and installed all the fasteners. Lots of sewing practice. Slowly making friends with the machine and bobbin. Still not totally in tune with the bobbin yet, but getting there. Probably could do better on the seams, but haven't really looked up how to make seams yet. Just winging it:

Nailed the binding around the edges on the next two covers. One really has to pay attention:

Before I sewed over the seam. I like that look better for some reason. I think it looks more "military" for some reason:

Yeah, I do enjoy a new challenge. 8) Thankfully, one of the first things I learned is that canvas is fairly forgiving...I'm getting well versed in how to rip out stitches!

Thanks Mark. I was a little stressed as I have had my Command Car top removed for over two weeks. First time in almost four years having it removed from the bows. After all that work to get it installed the first time. The top was about 5 inches too short when I went to put it on. After it was constructed and received by me, I didn't open the box for about six months. \

After I opened the box, the first thing I see is a note that says "install this top Immediately." When I went to install the top, it was about 5 inches too short. After pulling, yanking, heating, and ripping the rear window out of the canvas, I was able to install the rear Lift-the-Dots.

Anyway, it was warm here yesterday, and I didn't have too much trouble installing it back on. Was a little worried I'd have trouble.

Hope to see you in Plymouth.
Zeph

That canvas is something else. I got a new top for my CC and one for the SC. I did as instructed, installed right away. At first I was disappointed, they looked a little too loose. I left both trucks out overnight for two nights. No weather, just dew and fairly cool, followed by clear bright warm days. They both tightened up to fit. Tight as a drum, well pretty nice and tight.

Yeah, I hear that canvas shrinks quite a bit initially, and continues throughout its life. I bought a canvas cargo cover for my WC52. It initially fit perfect. Now it is about 4 inches above the bed. No fun to sleep in any longer as the wind blows right through. If I can increase my sewing experience, I'm thinking about adding 8 inches to each side so it doesn't look so goofy and goes over the bed sides.

Took the WC16 to a hot rod show with 6,000 cars. 37 winners out of the 6.000. Nice to be recognized:
