looking for MB/GPW bellcrank for capstan winch
Hello all!
I´m looking for the "inverted" mb/gpw bellcrank type, to be used with the capstan winch. Any idea where to find it?
Kind Regards,
Luciano

Luciano and Parker007,
I was in the same situation. I initially brought my original bell crank to a machine shop and they told me there was enough material to machine it without welding it up. But, I guess welding it would ensure you have enough material.
I ended up buying the correct bell crank from a shop based in the Netherlands. I think it was this place: https://www.wildenbergparts.nl
You could also reach out to these guys: https://www.capstanwinch.com
I just looked at their webpage and couldn't find anything for the Bradon winch. You might need to give them a call or send them and email.

Yes, exactly the same. Different taper direction.

Re: looking for MB/GPW bellcrank for capstan winch
Brett, nice tip!
I need to find a safe way to invert the taper direction.
Honestly, I'm afraid to simply fullfill the holes with solder, to drill a new tapered hole in another direction. I´m not sure if it would change the temper of such critical structural part.
It may be safer just to drill through the taper holes and to crimp a conical bushing, made specificallly in an lathe machine, appointing in another direction.

Re: looking for MB/GPW bellcrank for capstan winch
Never weld on a bell crank, but this is for a winch so it might not matter. But solder as indicated above, would quickly wear out. Personally, I would machine a new tapered bushing, drill out the original straight, and tack weld or pin the bushing in the hole. Best of both worlds.
I can alter them if I had the reamer. Maybe I should get one and go into the business.......
What do they sell for? What is the demand?

I don't mean what do reamers sell for; I have 100 of them. I mean, what do the bell cranks sell for and what is the demand for them.
