They are still available but i can't guarantee that it'll be anytime soon that I'll be able to get to you. I've still got a few folks that have been patiently waiting over a month now. I sincerely appreciate the interest in this and I'll keep on them.

Okay, how can I order one? Or are they all sold-out/reserved?

They are hand made, by me, in a few batches at a time. No stock pile of them or anything. I've got your name written down and keep the list in order of when I'm contacted. I'll PM you when I have one ready for you, or it's best to email me as PM service sometimes can get a little spotty if folks don't log on in a while.

Bobby’s battery cases are first rate. I read Marty’s post with interest on drilling a hole in the bottom of the case for drainage. I have a ‘43 MB where the battery tray does not really have a hole to permit drainage. Is this really a problem? I do not plan on fording any streams but maybe condensation is an issue on a sealed unit. Like Marty, I also had to raise the battery with a 3/16” shim at the bottom so that the terminals would fit the cable clamps properly. Also, should we be concerned about venting the AGM battery? Or are the holes at the posts wide enough to permit off gassing at the top? I am finishing painting my case and used the rigid packing foam from my battery purchase at Summit Racing to form a supporting structure for the void left at the corners of the case. It cut very well with a bread knife. Maybe this is over the top, but it should help the urethane case to hold its shape over time and engine heat. If anyone has some additional suggestions about what product to use for sealing the case, please let me know. I plan to use Permatex Ultra Black RTV Silicone Gasket Maker and warm it gently with a heat gun so it smooths out for a nice finish. This case is a great product and valuable addition to our restoration work. Thank you again, Bobby.

That's a good idea on the packing foam! I haven't glued my top on yet. The battery is a tight fit in the corners and it took a little relieving of the sides of the case to get it to square up a bit more. It would also lend more support to the top resin casting when it's sealed up.

I think the case will vent any escaping gas enough through the top to post holes if you don't seal them. I also worried about any water getting in during cleaning, so I put the drain hole in the bottom of the case. I do off-road my jeep and sometimes need to rinse off the engine compartment on it.

A GPW battery tray has the large oval hole which makes locating a drain hole easy. The MB battery tray has a couple dimpled areas for a riveted bracket, IIRC. Might work locating a small hole there. Alternately, a small hole drilled diagonally into the corner of the battery cover on the back side that's hidden would keep any water that got in from building up.

Great suggestions with the foam and i agree that venting probably isn't an issue since the terminals do have a gap. Just a quick side note before you seal everything up, looks like your top needs to be flipped around if you want the "medallion" showing on the front. With the positive post being inboard/aft and negative outboard/forward. The paint looks great by the way!
Thanks again Carl

Thank you for the time you put into making these covers. Makes the engine bay look so much better! I like others had to add some battery post shims as my negative would not securely tighten. I opted to use black RTV to fill in the gap around the top cover and am satisfied with the results.

I haven’t settled on painting the caps or logos yet as Ive seen and heard a few different things of how it should look.

I have a "second" for sale. Every once in a while one just randomly bubbles and gets waves in it. Asking $50 for this one. Comes with a top also. Once it's installed in the jeep and the bracket is on you won't notice it, it just bugs me.
Send me a PM and I'll get a shipping quote.

Oh good! Thanks for your patience and for everyone's patience who is waiting but I'm getting there. Another batch went out this week and more resin is coming in the mail tomorrow.
