Willard Battery Cover
I have for sale 5 Willard battery covers. Through a series of modifications, I was able to alter a 6V diesel battery to provide the base for my SW-2-119 giving me the correct background pattern and "Willard" font. Also has faux Willard Safety-Fill caps. The medallion says "Wood" "SW-2-119" They are designed to fit the 6 Volt Optima battery (not included). Will need to be painted to finish to your individual like. Also the bottom tabs of your Optima will need to be trimmed off in order to fit in this case. They are individually cast by hand so some minor differences occur in the casting process on the interior of the cast. The exterior is the same. Asking $80 a piece, plus shipping. If these 5 sell, I'll try to do another batch of 5.

Nice work!
Does the standard battery hold-down frame fit these boxes?

Thanks! Yes the standard holder works on them. And sorry for the poor quality of images, limited as to what i can post here but, the letters and background are very sharp snd crisp. PM me if you'd like an email with clearer pictures.

Re: Willard Battery Cover
Can you post a close up of the batter in the jeep. I'm curious if the hold down cover lip covers up the gap between the molded cover and the side.

Re: Willard Battery Cover
I appreciate the interest, this batch is spoken for. I'll try and get another batch made up soon. The red top Optima is slightly visible through the reliefs that i had to make in the sides to keep the size right. You can easily touch up the battery top with some black paint and make it almost invisible. Sounds a bit cheesy but you could run a bead of hot glue (easy to remove so you can replace the battery if needed) around the seam to completely hide the interior battery and make it look "sealed"

I saw that, but also thought your project looks great regardless.roblenzz wrote:The red top Optima is slightly visible through the reliefs that i had to make in the sides to keep the size right.

Re: Willard Battery Cover
Are you interested in reproducing the Auto-Lite equivalent? I have a few original Auto-Lite battery cases and would love to have them reproduced.

Re: Willard Battery Cover
Very cool! I've got my hands full right now with the Willard but that would be fun to do too. Do you have fill caps?

Re: Willard Battery Cover
No. Don't have the caps. For whatever reason, this guy had 4 of these in various conditions. I bought all of them from him.
Do you have a mold you make for these? Or just modify an existing cover? Thanks!
