High quality restored S.O.S fire guard extinguishers

Post by FUBAR » Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:48 pm

I have 4 nicely restored General S.O.S. Fire Guard fire extinguishers available.

These are original 1940's brass extinguishers, with correct casting marks that I have stripped, straightened, painted and applied a new water-slide decal. I've had these decals custom made, and they are as close to original as is possible. There is no comparison to the decals on commonly available repro extinguishers.

Extinguishers are for display purposes only, the handle and handle-lock operate, but the extinguishers are empty and will not pump fluid. They may have very small dents or other imperfections which will not be visible when installed in a mounting bracket.

Price is $175ea plus postage. Compare to repros with crummy decals @ $150

A lot of hours went into those decals, I think the graphic designer was on the verge of strangling me a few times.

Are these correct for a DOD 01/06/1943 GPW?

Yes, they are correct for the entire production run of GPWs and MBs (Although I have seen old, unresolved arguments on the Gee). I have a high degree of confidence for a '43 GPW, and this is what was specified in the new MVPA GPW Restoration guide that was on display at the convention.

Hi, congratulations for the decal!!
Being a designer myself, I had planned to make my own file also.

I have a very nice original one with intact decal, and another one with intact paint but decal gone.
So.....would you make me a huge favor and sell me one of these decals?

Hi Fabrizio,

I'm sorry, but at this time I can only sell the complete assembly.

Perhaps some time in the future...

Was able to complete a couple of extinguishers this weekend, so they are back in stock.

I wonder if any of this batch will go to US jeep owners? So far all the extinguishers have sold to other countries.
