It's been awhile since I had good rope to make these, but I found several coils this winter and spring. These are all genuine three-strand 1" diameter hemp or manila, between 21' and 23' long, with at least four-tuck eye splices, seared, and whipped. That's good for a bakers' dozen or so coils around the bumper if you like them tightly wrapped (generally speaking, rear echelon high ranking officer's jeeps), and several if you like them wrapped in looser figure-8's (combat ready). I don't know what got into me, but I got a little creative with the whipping on this batch. Typically I stick with sisal twine for the whipping, but I kind of like the white and black cotton twine. The latter would look especially good on CJ's, I think. I'll have three or four more tow ropes for sale next week if you miss out on these, and I can take the white and black twine whipping off and replace with sisal twine if there are no takers on those. We'll see what happens.

Re: FOR SALE: Bumper Tow Ropes
Made two more today, by request, both sisal whipping, both SOLD. Guys, if it's the black and white twill whipping that's stopping you on the two that are UNSOLD, I can easily remove it and replace with sisal whipping. Let me know.

Re: FOR SALE: Bumper Tow Ropes
Haha. Thanks, Pat. I appreciate the appreciation!
I have two more for sale.
The one on the left above had the black twill whipping, now replaced with sisal twine. The one on the right is newly made and it is the LAST remaining bumper rope from the two coils I had found this last winter. These are not as golden as the other batch and a little hairier. But genuine 1" hemp in good condition. You can wash these with soap and water, let dry in the sun, and then very liberally re-oil (hold a rag sopping wet with oil in your hand and pull the rope through it, repeat) and the fibers will shine again.
