My 2021 old tool finds.
It’s time to start a new thread since I have come across several old tools since the new year. Due to the ongoing pandemic, it has seemed prudent not to attend sales in the wild for the time being so most of my acquisitions have come via the Internet, trades and gifts from my tool friends. Here are a few finds, hopefully in chronological order. One of the most exciting finds to me so far was a WW2 vintage S-K toolbox, one of which I had been looking for for a few years. It came as a gift from a fellow west coast collector.

I was gifted this mid 30s S-K ratchet recently and the two Stanley Phillips screwdrivers arrived from an eBay seller yesterday. They may end up in my MVMTS.

This Arcturus 731A that arrived yesterday will be going into the Cosmoline collection box.

Additions to the cosmoline box are hard to beat, but those Stanley's are sweet, Don! Are they WW2 era? I've always struggled to ID the non-perfect handle screwdrivers.

With Phillips screwdrivers the starting point is to make sure they have the early patent, not the much more common post 1950 patent. Here is a page from the 1941 Stanley catalog, the closest to wartime available.

Although I didn’t really need a partial Plomb 1/4” drive set, it was more cost effective to pick up missing sockets this way rather than trying to find them individually. The box turned out to be nicer than the one that I was trying to complete, which was a plus.

Re: My 2021 old tool finds.
My best friend since the first grade had picked up a bunch of tools that an elderly woman friend of his was going to throw out. He knew I would want to pick through them so he brought them home. Here are some of the things I picked up on Wednesday.

A couple of recent acquisitions. The undamaged spark plug gapper was a buy it now on eBay. Since a dark finish example with the magnifier in place is rare, I grabbed it. A local collector friend attended a sale a couple of bocks from my house and picked up this Navy box for me. With some suggestions from Wingnutt, I was able to find out a little about its original contents.

This was an eBay pickup that arrived Tuesday. It will be going into a keeper set.

Re: My 2021 old tool finds.
This box with the early S-K decal was found at a local estate sale on Saturday by a friend who picked it up for me. I cleaned and added tools to the early ‘30s S-K set and cleaned up the rusty New Britain ratchet.

Re: My 2021 old tool finds.
Here are some recent eBay finds. I bought the D-I set because the decal was so intact plus all of the sockets were included. The canvas roll for the Duro G series ignition wrenches is rare and will be a good addition to a late war GMTK.
