Tuesday July 23rd saw the start of the five day War & Peace Revival Show located at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, Kent, U.K.
This long standing event is one of the premier military vehicle shows, and has become an annual pilgrimage for many. Nice to bump into some old friends too, namely Chris and Allan.
Previously billed as ' The Largest Gathering of Military Vehicles on the Planet '. However this year numbers seemed to be down
Now ' weather ' this was due to prior engagements across the channel, or perhaps something else
After a quick scout around on the Friday morning I met up with Cliff and his Brother. Fortunately we chose to sit under a gazebo for a cuppa or two when suddenly the weather gods struck Heavy rain followed This gave us the time to discuss our parallel worlds, how very bizarre Thank you Cliff and Ken for the pleasure of your company.
I did manage to pick up these few pieces for bargain bucket prices.
Snap On F16 1/2 G

BluePoint WXS-101116 1/4 W X 5/16W shorty
Plvmb 3/16W X 1/4W DBE
Plvmb Ranger A.T. 155 7/8 SOE
Eagle oiler with useful hanging hole in the handle. I think this might be a number 28, and originally had a bronze finish with front decal. Apparently all the way from Texas according to the Vendor
The Ford NOS parts were a nice find too, and not too expensive -perfect collectables.
Lastly the complimentary Kentish mud which did follow me home
These are some other items of interest that did not follow me home. I did find the Vendor of that German tool box that I saw previously at Malvern, so here it is Gordon, together with another much heavier variant with a heavy price too.
Unfortunately the rain returned late on Friday which continued until mid morning Saturday ( the last day ) such a great shame when you consider all the hard work done by everyone involved in staging such a large event

Re: War and Peace Revival Show
Thanks Len for showing all the goodies that you found at the Show. Yes it was very wet but meeting up was a highlight of the day and sharing all those similar experiences over a cupper was very enjoyable. Interestingly, we hardly touched on talking tools! I'll probably regret it, but I passed on the dilapidated MVMTS Hamilton box (it only had one corner reinforcement). Another at £120, was way over the top for me. Still a very big event, but somehow had lost some of its kudos. Too many ordnance and gun stalls for me.

Re: War and Peace Revival Show
Thanks for those images Len, many similarities to my box, but not the same. I wonder how they identify it as German - did either have marks or stamps you could see.
I stayed at home and worked. Much kinder on the wallet.
