Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
Phil alerted me to this hard to find shorty DBE on eBay. It’ll probably go into a keeper set.

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
Don you have certainly ' struck ' lucky again, congratulations all round.
I thought this modified rather sad looking 28S was just too good to pass, but could do with a little help to return it to it's former glory.
So heat applied & some bumping = Result

Len,
Nice save! I have several Vlcheks like that. I’ve always thought there was no way they would ever go back. I’ll have to try it.

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
I found this unmarked DBE 3/8” x 7/16” wrench at a S Lake Tahoe thrift store yesterday. It has the familiar E forging mark on the opposite side.

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
That's great Don
Interesting to see that you have also found an unbranded variant in the U.S.
For no particular reason I have collected these over many years, all found here in the U.K. Worthy of note is that like yours all mine have the same ' E ' forge mark.
Stay safe Len

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
Nice grouping, Len. I have some more of those only marked on one side and no Barcalo markings. Most of mine have the E forging mark as well but not all.

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
Don I was interested to see that both your largest & smallest of the grouping are reversed when placed with the ' Barcalo Buffalo U.S.A. ' facing upwards.
Here we see that the largest in my group is the same ? Originally I thought that this change of orientation might be a clue to a manufacturing date when compared with the ' recently added ' listed sizes that can be found in the limited paper work that is currently available ? Don's smallest DBE sort of kicks that theory into touch
The Sept 1937 price list # 69 shows six sizes of Forged Vanadium DBE's. But by Nov 1940 two additional sizes had been ' recently added '. The May 1943 price list #139 with accompanying letter dated November 1945 does not appear to list any Forged Vanadium DBE's ?
It would be interesting to see if the Forged Vanadium range was reintroduced after the lifting of war time restrictions.
So are there any post 1945 catalogues out there
Stay safe all - Len

Re: BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE
I believe that there are a couple more Barcalo catalogs waiting to be revealed.
Here are some Barcaloy wrenches that are likely the next generation after the wartime wrenches.
