BARCALOS--POST YOURS HERE

Post by pjones » Sat Apr 13, 2019 10:00 am

Seems like we have had this type thread for Barcalos before but I couldn't find it. I know there was a similar Fairmount based thread.
I've always thought this was a very cool picture and have even thought of recreating it. Unfortunately, it would be very challenging to come by that many original boxes.

Image

In the repacks I found Barcalos in their original boxes. Compared to Duro's, Bluepoints and Vlchek's which I also found in their original boxes, the Barcalo boxes were by far the coolest. Unfortunately I didn't find a box of BB 723's but I did recently obtain this box and recreated an original box as it may have been supplied.

Fortunately for me Hugh the box was still intact when I got it. All I had to do was add wrenches.

Great idea, Phil. I did some reorganization of my Barcalo tools on Tuesday and took some updated pictures.

Awesome collection Don but I have a feeling you have more than that!

Here is another box I have. I have several boxes of 1733's and one 27C I'll get some photos of soon.

Thanks Phil

These represent around thirty years of collecting all things Barcalo and many other USA made tools. The majority of which have been purchased here in the U.K. I have added a few more pieces to these since last year, so need to update my photos when the better weather returns. I think the count now stands at 11 #723, 13 #25, 14 #27C, 11 #28S, 9 #731A, 6 #33C Barcalo DOE's.

You know how it starts ? Buy a jeep - then start buying tools - then even more tools

So what do you do with all those ' odd ' sized Barcalo DOE's that do not fit the GPW tool kit / GMTS but surface here and there :?:

I thought it would be a good idea to use these ' odd ' pieces to represent the 1943 Barcalo Buffalo production of sixteen pieces as listed in their catalogue. How ever I only need the #731 ( size 3/4'' X 11/16'' listed as 1731 ) now to complete the range - Hint Hint

Nice pictures from the Jones boys. Here is one that another vintage tool collector sent me. I imagine that they are fairly rare.

I love those style multipurpose tools. Nice job of cleaning that one up. Do we have a copy of that 1934 catalog?

We don't have one but apparently AA does. Too bad they never learned to share. I would love to see a scan of that catalog.
Here is another multi tool that I bought off of eBay..
