What is this wrench for any ideas??

Post by RedArrow2016 » Fri Nov 02, 2018 9:30 pm

Does anyone have any ideas to what this wrench is used for? And is it a common wrench? Thanks...

Depending on the size, it is for a transfer case and/or the front and rear axles...to remove the drain plugs for some vehicle. Not for a jeep transmission though.

Chuck, it's in your manuals.
How about 41H-1501 Handle Socket Wrench, Offset, Double End, 1 3/4" x 6 3/4", 1/2" Square Drive. Check your TM9-803, this is not part of the MB Tool Kit. They are a part of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic's Tool Set.
These can be found availible at an "Ell" of a deal.

So really there is no need for these for anyone then because they are common then I will go to the scrap pile I think with these as well. I do not want to hang on to things that have nobody needing them since they are common out there...

Don't throw, there are many potential tool collectors that occasionally come out for air.

Will a 1/2" drive socket fit on the ends? If so I think I'd like one as a novelty. What brand(s) are they? You might have some other wrenches (I've seen on your other threads) that I might be interested in after I check my "pile" so I'll get back to you in a couple of days. Thanx!

You're welcome. These are an ugly little critter, and they sort of have a cult like following due to all the different manufacturers names stamped on them, "with cosmoline" or "without cosmoline" also seems to make a difference.
