I’m afraid most of your finds are not wartime. Red Walden boxes are postwar, anything branded Proto is postwar, the Utica adjustable is postwar, the SO extension is postwar. I don’t recognize the ratchet but it is certainly postwar. The Plomb is prewar. The WF flex handle is wartime but is 9/32” drive.

Found some cool items today at the flea market
a 42 dated canteen, chipped but the price was right, and it retained its flat top cap
a -42 Wright socket 15/16 S-161 AC
a 12 inch P&R Phillips screw driver, the shank has a nice trademark with crossed screws
and another Red Devil scraper
Also a mid 80s USAF Weapons crew tool box...nice markings being an old Phantom guy...had to have it

The pipe wrench is post-war. You want to look for a squared-off end on the floating jaw and an adjusting nut that is all knurled. This is very definitive. I have a few extras. You can have one for $5 + shipping. Just PM me if you're interested. Include your address and I'll send photos and you can even pick which one you want.

The G1025 is perfect.

We don't really have enough definitive info on Snap-on/Blue-Point items without date codes (such as ball-pein hammers and your adjustable...), but I would consider that WWII, personally, based on the ALLOY STEEL and the look of that branding. In fact, I think I have a 12-incher that is its cousin. That's a nice find!

EDIT: Yup, here ya go. Found this 12-incher showing signs of cadmium plating back in 2016. Link to original post here. At the time I surmised that it looked like it was Diamond Calk made and I still think that. I don't even know if I have it anymore. I may have moved it along to another collector. I will check in case you're interested in making them a nice brand-matching pair in your GMTK.

I just dusted off my memory/understanding on the Blue-Point adjustable wrenches. Without a doubt made by Diamond - they call out Diamalloy by name in the catalog in the 40's and 50's. Up through 1948, the adjustable wrenches in the catalog show NO markings on the panel. (Note, that doesn't mean they weren't marked, just that the catalogs are no help in identifying how they were marked.) The first time they show any markings on the adjustable wrench at all is 1948, and the marking is what you see on your wrench. Whether that means that was the first year they were marked like that or that was the first year they included a figure of them marked like that in the catalog is not known, as far I know. We'd need an example with a different marking on a wrench that was obviously older to resolve it. One more thing I will add for your own analysis - I used to think that the font on wartime Snap-on/Blue-Point logos were ALL erect (perfectly straight up and down), and, that a slanted font meant postwar. I was wrong about that. Some wartime tools had slanted fonts. This is all elaboration on what I meant by less than definitive. Someone else may have more.

Wingnutt,

thanks for the insight and clarification on the adjustable wrench...the G1025 was the first wrench I saw in the box of old wrenches, newly aired out by a vendor, followed by the Blue Point...so was a good morning

a few days previous, I had was reading your post about the removable lower jaw, heavy duty, etc and saw the 14 inch Rigid in a box of wrenches (same vendor as above) at the flea...and went for it...no big loss, and still a good wrench

however, I see what you mean about the knurled nut and the thread base being squared, from this post
viewtopic.php?t=244841

I have armed myself with the appendix G for the 41-T-3538, and the matching photos from several members boxes, yours included, IIRC, great for double checking wrench sizes, and basic physical dimensions of tools required...however my eye for dates of manufacture is limited...so thanks much

Thanks much

Was a good weekend for tools
Kraeuter water pump pliers 1943-10 (1943 date stamp? or part number)
Herbrand water pump pliers 166 1/2 stamped
Plomb hammer
Walden 1/2 drive breaker bar
Challenger 14 in pipe wrench and a Trimont 1916 pat pipe wrench
snap on swivel and unmarked round nose pliers

Challenger pipe wrench meets all the physical attributes but the red paint has me wondering if post war
