Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
I added the universal sockets to the Plomb set and replaced the wartime pebble ratchet and hinge handle with earlier ones that better match the rest of the tools. The set is kind of a combination of the two sets pictured in the catalog.

nice set Don
I always prefer the non-Pebble type for wartime, though I know they appeared during WW2

I picked up this Walden black oxide 3/8” drive ratchet off of eBay just because I hadn’t seen one before. I haven’t really seen many 3/8” drive Walden tools that might be wartime.

Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
I’m always on the lookout for wartime 3/8” drive tools. This 3/8” drive 8 point 5/16” S-K socket was a surprise when I spotted it on the auction site. It’s a socket that shows that it was suspended in the wartime S-K catalog. I guess this one was made right before the restrictions.

Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
Thanks, Gordon.
I found these 3 NOS cad plated 3/8” drive Plomb universal sockets on eBay recently and thought that I would add them to my wartime set. Upon closer examination, the one marked 11/16” was actually 3/4”, much to my surprise. I guess the discrepancy was never noticed because they had never been used. I ended up keeping the dark finish 11/16” socket in the set.

Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
They would be making them and getting them out the door at great speed, not surprised, and probably not uncommon. I still browse the auction site but I'm only bidding on stuff that I really need, like gaps in my WF or Craftsman set. There is always room to pick up something that no-one else has noticed ( Len doesn't miss much ... ). but it has been a while since anything really interesting passed by.

I recently received a 3/8” drive Duro u-joint from Jason to add the Duro/D-I 3/8” drive set. I was also gifted a matching Duro 3/8” drive speeder from another collector.

Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
I’ve been looking for the same box that Bill’s 3/8” drive S-K is in and I was alerted to one by another S-K collector. It shows a little more wear and the decal is missing but Bill confirmed that it is the same box. I ordered a replacement decal and put my wartime S-K tools in it then installed the decal permanently.mrbill wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 6:53 pmI've been trying to put together a complete S-K 4517 socket set. (Special thanks to d42jeep for many of the pieces.) I'm missing a 9/16” 12 point socket (there is a 6 point stand-in), 11" un-marked extension (marked diamond placeholder), and tommy bar. (If I can find a 45110 5/16" socket I'd have a 41-W-2616 set, too.)
From the 1943 S-K catalog. It shows 10 sockets but only lists 7 in the BOM. Any ideas what the others might be?

Re: What about 3/8" drive tools?
I recently received a Craftsman Circle H 3/8” drive ratchet with plug from Jason that I needed for a fairly complete set that I had accumulated. I’m not exactly sure when these were made but being sourced from New Britain, they were well made tools.
