Late '41 Heller Catalog

Post by pjones » Wed Feb 07, 2018 4:27 pm

I'm not sure I've seen any Heller chisels at the flea or used in any of the GMTKs posted here. As you can see this is a Oct '41 catalog and I included a photo of the ball peen hammer and how it is stamped. Many of us have used the style found in the Bizal kit (last photo).

Phil,

FWIW... here is a photo of my Heller Ball pien. I think the handle is original to it also.

Henry,
It's easy to tell if the handle is original. Heller used "S" shaped wedges.

While trying to find out if Heller dropped the fancy horse logo in leu of the more basic and simple HELLER-US or HELLER-USA for wartime production I found this:
https://www.trademarkia.com/logo-71328787.html

On Thursday, July 14, 1932, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for the above pictured logo by HELLER BROTHERS COMPANY, NEWARK. The USPTO has given the trademark serial number of 71328787. The current federal status of this trademark filing is EXPIRED. The correspondent listed for is ? of *****, *****, ***** ***** . The trademark is filed in the category of Yarns and Threads . The description provided to the USPTO for is TOOLS, CONSISTING OF ANVIL TOOLS,[BATTERY TOOLS,]FARRIERS' TOOLS; HEADING TOOLS CONSISTING OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICALLY DESIGNATED TOOLS, RASPS, CHISELS, FILES, FILE HOLDERS, PUNCHES,[LINING-UP BARS,]KNIVES;[ELEMENT PULLERS, COTTER PIN PULLERS, WRENCHES,]PINCERS, NIPPERS, PARERS,[BODY SPOONS, PLIERS, GLASS REMOVING TOOL, DOLLY BLOCKS, BENDING IRONS,]HOOF TESTERS, CLINCHERS, PRITCHELS;[BUFFERS, FULLERS, HARDIES, PUNCHES, SWAGES, FLATTERS, WELDING DIES,]HAMMERS, AND TONGS.
