All,

Image

This package includes a high-quality photocopy of Class 41 – Hand Tools, dated March 1944, an original booklet from the U.S. Navy Aviation Supply Office Catalog of Aeronautical Materials, Spare Parts, and Equipment. This package also includes high-quality photocopies of the following related original booklets: Class 8 – Valves, Tire Kits, Gages, and Pumps (Jun 44), Class 13 – Oilers (Pistol Type)(Feb 45), and Class 58 – Fire Extinguishers (Jun 44). 64 pages total.

Each booklet is laid out like a commercial catalog, with a part name, full description, specifications, a photograph, sizes, etc, and stock number (Federal, Navy, and/or Mfgr's) for every item.

Here is the Index from the Class 41 – Hand Tools booklet, so you’ll know exactly what it contains:

Guys,

I'm getting a lot of questions about the availability of other stock classes.

In my first post I posted this link to a thread I have on the "Manuals" board, but it may have gotten lost in the busy-ness...

viewtopic.php?f=91&t=271343

Click on it and scroll down. At the end I have a list of which booklets I have already scanned, which I will be scanning soon, which I will be scanning some time this summer, and which I will scan by request. Edit: if you don't see a stock class listed, it wasn't in the catalog.

Wingnutt:

Received today my beautiful color photocopy of the Class 41 Hand Tools catalog produced in March, 1944 by the U.S. Navy Aviation Supply Office. I heartily Thank You for making this gorgeous photocopy available to us G503er's at an extremely reasonable postpaid price. The images inside are clear and sharp and occasionally include the tool manufacturer's name. Most satisfying is the presence of a Class 41-__-XXX Gov't Stock No. for each size of every tool pictured. This is a lovely and practical illustrated catalog of many WW II common hand tools that is a delight to read. It will be especially invaluable to GMTK collectors, and I'm not even one. Great job well done!! :D :D

Received mine today. It's like the Sears Christmas catalog, the "Wish Book" from when I was a kid. Man this is good stuff. Looking forward to buying additional groups in the set.

Thank you Greg!

Finally, while not the case for every tool listed, many of the tools have the manufacturer's name and model number actually listed as part of the textual description. This is invaluable! Did I say thank you Greg!

Glad you guys like it. What a difference from the ORD 5 and any other Army manual!

For those of you eyeing the Snap-On No. 488-B “Super-Service” Set with K-55R Tool Chest at the bottom of page 26..., page 2 of Snap-On Catalog Q (1944) has a more detailed breakdown... http://www.collectingsnapon.com/catalog ... ogPage=846 :D
