Did you find any listing/contracts for Merit?

I couldn't find a Merit in the new references. There are several in the MWSC. But no hand tools. What is the item?

Nothing specific. I just see a bunch of pliers mostly.

Are you sure they're not the early Sears brand? Merit was like Fulton. Same era. Early 1930's, before Craftsman.

I can no longer update page 1, guys, but note that I just verified those AMCO DBE wrenches w/ the "TAC ES NO. 720-A" markings that some of us have.
Here's the wrench I am talking about...
AMCO is Acorn Manufacturing Company.
They had a 1945 contract with the Ordnance Dept for "BOX WRENCHES."
And of course that spec is cited in numerous manuals, including the ORD 5 SNL J-4.

Here are my Amco finds at a recent yard sale. I also recently found a pair of Camron longnoses. Do they appear on any of the three lists?

I’m not sure about that Don but I did find them in the repacks.

Thanks, Phil. Do you remember if any had labels showing the FSN and repack date? They certainly look the part.

A lot of the Barcalo and Vlchek DBEs I found had labels that included the FSN and the repack date but none of the AMCO DBEs that I found had those.

Don and Phil,
I'm confused by your exchanges on May 21 and May 22.
The reason I think that is because I think you know I already verified the AMCO DBE's back in May 2021. I can no longer edit the list in post #1, but if I could, it would definitely, without any question, include Acorn Mfg Co of Erie PA. They had a 1945 contract.
CAMRON has never been verified as WWII as far as I know. CAMRON and a company they were vaguely affiliated with called Pro-America seem to appear as a military supplier in the 1950's. It would appear on LIST C.
Phil - What does the "them" refer to? AMCO DBEs? Or CAMRON pliers? Because of your later answer to Don's follow up question, I think you're referring to the AMCO DBE's.
CAMRON pliers in repacks would be interesting. But I don't think that's the case. Please confirm, Phil.

Don - I think the "they" in your question refers to the Camron pliers. Correct? Please confirm.

Here is where my confusion continues. I'm assuming Don is still referring to the CAMRON pliers "looking the part". Again, because the AMCO DBE's do more than just look the part and they've already been unquestionably verified.

Thanks, Wingnutt.
My question was about Camron. I saw that the Amco wrenches were verified. Maybe Phil does have some repack Camron tools. That would be interesting, especially if they are dated with FSNs. I appreciate you keeping up with these verified suppliers. Should the perfect handle Federal screwdrivers be on list A since you found the one with a Taxi number?

I haven't been keeping up with them that well at all. Barely. I don't even read the forum too frequently. And yes, Federal should definitely be on List A. Others have found those as well.

Greg,
Sorry I’m just now reading your preceding post. No, I did not find any Camron pliers and I was referring to the AMCO DBE’s. Sorry for the confusion.
Phil
