FS: Orig. Tool/Equip Pubs & Handouts, WW2-50s

Post by AZ Jeff » Sat Nov 21, 2020 1:46 pm

The Herd-Thinning continues... Here are few original publications and other printed matter relating to tools and supply catalogs from WW2-1950s. As we know, a lot of WW2 materiel carried over into the 1950s so those pubs are often a more complete reference than the wartime stuff itself.

Image

* Aberdeen Proving Grounds Ordnance School Tool Layout Photos (c. April, 1943) -- Total of SEVEN (7) layouts, 8"x10" format, single-sided on regular paper taken at the schoolhouse. They include, Jeep, GPW, Motorcycle, 2-1/2T 6x6 cargo (with winch), 4 Ton 6x6 Diamond T Cargo, 1-1/2T 4x4 Cargo, and 3/4T 4x4 W/C (though originally marked 1/2T). Also includes the APG Christmas "card" and some training class rosters. Photo quality is good. Lot for $50

* TB 5-9720-7 Maintenance Tools and Equipment (04/24/44 edition, 1951 print) -- 92 page, GREAT illustrated handbook on drills, grinders, lathes, paint sprayers... all that big, weirdo stuff with specs and photos. Shows age and wear but solid. $45

* DA PAM 350-29 (1956 edition and print) -- 200 mind-numbing pages on SNLs with the description and edition date. Plenty of WW2 stuff still around in 1956... GREAT supply catalog reference in EXC condition. $25

Image

* ORD-1 "Formerly Introduction to the Ordnance Catalog, IOC" (04/23/45 edition and print) -- Sixteen pages on the various "ORD" level pubs (1-16) and what they cover, supply terminology plus Requisition Form and Property Slip images and description. Good stuff if you are collecting Ordnance manuals comprehensively or want to know what Ordnance personnel were being taught on the subject at APG. EXC condition. $10

* Change #1 to ORD 5 SNL J-16, Tire Repair & Maintenance Tools & Equipment (04/13/45 edition and print.). Two page (folded) words on changes. $1

* TM 38-650 Basic Maintenance Manual (1947 edition & print) -- 18 pages on the theory behind Army maintenance, what publications are used etc. $5

Image

* ENG-1 Introduction and Index (1951 edition, 1952 print) -- Tells you what ENGINEER ("ENG") supply catalog covers what, from nuts and bolts to heavy equipment. Lots of WW2 era stuff in this 137 page manual. GREAT reference on engineer equipment. $50

Image

* TM 9-1608 Ordnance Optics manual, SNL F-235 (List of parts for Tank optics) and ORD 6 SNL J-15 (w/changes) for the Group F Special Tools -- GREAT reference set on these topics with heavily illustrated 1944 TM (421 pages) showing the optics and part numbers... The 1943 SNL illustrating parts for the same (for tanks-- 238 pages) and the 1953 Special Tools SNL (76 pages + changes). Hard information to find in my experience. Sold as a lot for $125.

Prices do not include postage. Please PM direct if interested. I accept fee-less PayPal payment if you wish. Thanks for looking!
