Hi All
Here are a few pictures of some of my sets I would like to share with you. There is another 6 point 7/16 socket which maybe the third knurled one found so far!

Yeah, that can happen. Both Phil’s and my Walden overages are posted upthread. I guess the fun is in the search.

Hi All
Don,
There is a bunch of killer sets on this thread, I would have to say my two favorite sets would be yours and Phil's Duro Chrome sets with the 4573 spinners those are awesome  I for one love to have multiple sets to custom build, mix and match upgrade to my personal liking. The thrill of the hunt is great, with so many options completing sets cad plated, dark finishes, sockets with holes and without. Hopefully one day I will find a 4573 spinner to complete my set!

I feel the same way about being able to make up sets from individual pieces. Here is a Walden set I put together recently out of mostly NOS sockets, some with a bit of residual cosmoline, that would be an exact specification matching set for late WW2. This set would have been included in the GMTK from 4/45 through the end of the war. For some reason the government changed the spec to include only 6 and 8 point sockets, as well as doing away with the ratchet, extension and crossbar. Towards the end of the war Walden was going away from their previously produced knurled sockets to a style with the two slots. Most of the latest dark finish sets contained a mix of the two styles.

Back in March I found these pieces together at an estate sale in Oakland. At the time, I wasn’t aware that Plomb used unmarked boxes of this style after they used the embossed boxes. Mudbox has a postwar set in a red version of this box. I am now gathering the tools to complete this set although I’ve heard that the 1/4” drive pebble flex handles are quite rare. I assume based on the ratchet that this set was made in 1945.
