Well I need some screwdriver help here...

Post by RedArrow2016 » Thu Nov 08, 2018 9:23 pm

Well digging through crate and after crates of military parts I came across these two different screwdrivers and I wanted to learn about them if possible and they have never been used and as you can see the wax is still on these screwdrivers. The red handle screwdriver is a Hayhew I believe is what is by the wooden handle the photograph may be hard to see that but I tried my best to helping you to telling me maybe the history of these screwdrivers. But looking to hear from anyone on this and thanks for all the help here...

Yes they are made in U.S.A. but the label is French - Tournevis = Screwdriver.

It has an early patent number 1839835 which is not the actual date of manufacture.

Same as this one bought here in U.K. at a recent military vehicle show, which also has this on the label ' 93/D ' which I assume is the date when it was all wrapped up.

Yes Sir,

There is a 93/D on the screwdriver itself. Well I guess then I will hang on to the ones I got then and just wait it out I am sure down the road someone might be looking for one at some point. But thanks for your help in this...
