Hotchkiss tub for sale

Post by M OMalley » Sat Jul 03, 2021 12:56 pm

I have an original never used in civilian life Hotchkiss body tub for sale in Westfield Massachusetts... Unfortunately after "Bubba" purchased this from Sarafan's in the late 1970's, he started a CJ2A conversion on it...He floored over the sump and cut an opening in the back of the sump for a "secret door". He also welded over a lot of the holes for the body hardware. They would have to be re-drilled...Some floor channel sections were replaced and there are two small areas left that could use repair...The rest of the metal is very solid. I'm asking $1500 or best reasonable offer. I will assist with loading. Regional delivery negotiable. Please examine the pictures closely..

Hello,

That is a good looking tub, good luck with the sale !!
It would be perfect for an M201 WOF Hotchkiss restoration !!!

Bubba gets around, pretty crazy what he did to your jeep !
But with a lot of grinding the overlay can be removed.

I have an M201 body like this in good shape, but I am looking for a Hotchkiss frame to build a complete French M201 jeep.
I have found most of the parts I need so far, except the frame.

This body will fit on any MB, GPW, or M201 jeep.

I hope someone can use it and gets it, they are hard to find here in the USA.

Best Regards,
Ray

I had sold 2 M201 frames to a guy in the NY state about 8 years ago. He used to advertise as Andy's Jeeps....The frames were much stronger than MB frames...I also have a complete original M201 that I hope to restore with the money I'm raising from selling my excess stuff. The body and frame are French but a lot of the mechanical and attaching parts were leftover WWII.. Mark O

Hello Mark,

I am happy to hear that you have an M201 to restore !!

Will you post your restoration on the G ?
There are so few here in the USA and they are an important part of Jeep Heritage, and a rock solid MB
type jeep.
I am very happy that the French built these jeeps to add to their large number of WW2 Jeeps that they maintained and kept in service from WW2 until the 21st Century !!
Once I get a frame, I can start assembling and restoring my M201 Hotchiss Jeep. Maybe I will use an MB frame to build it, as many French rebuilt jeeps would have been just like that. All parts interchangeable between the MB, GPW, and M201.

Stanles has a great restoration post going here on the G.

Best Regards,
Ray
