Re: ITM Jeep
Hello Ray,
I wish you a safe and peaceful new year and good health.
Your GPW is beautiful.
Is that original or such a great patina?
PS: is it possible to buy Czech beer at your place?
There is better beer in the Czech Republic than Pilsner

Re: ITM Jeep
Hello Standa,
Congratulations for your great progress.
And thank you for sharing your nice photos.
I have a question regarding the fuel tank sender. This is for a vehiculesmilitaires.com forum user who is restoring a M201.
This is a French forum with many M201 owners. I’m trying to help one of them.
He has a Jaeger fuel gauge on the dashboard and that gauge needs a specific sender.
He has the sender but the internal resistance is broken according to him
By any chance do you have that Jaeger compatible fuel tank sender.
If yes, I obviously have a subsidiary question : could you measure the min-max resistor?
This is that type of sender…under a dust and grease layer.
Thanks.
Yves

Re: ITM Jeep
If this helps. The vehicle voltage makes no difference with the sending unit. The gauge however does matter with vehicle voltage. I am not sure what the resistance the Jaeger requires to work but on myM201 I have a repro gauge and have found a very nice sending unit USA made. I tested it on my 24v M201 and my 44MB 6 volt and both fuel gauges went empty to full and back smoothly and steadily. This is the web site for the sending unit.

The M201 owner wants to keep the Jaeger original gauge. I have proposed him to send me his fuel sender to repair it.
I have not found any information about the sender resistance.
It seems that M201 French owner are not curious or they simply install another type of gauge and sender.
I have found that many Jaeger senders of that period are having a resistance of 0-300 ohm (MG, Mini) but I am not sure of the value in an M201.
Thanks also for the link.

Re: ITM Jeep
Hello ,
Thanks, yes the body paint is as I found it.
I did touch up the side stars , and repainted the original USA numbers on the hood that I uncovered.
They were hit with a grinder and damaged, so i wanted to clean them up a little.
I love it, and it was made in Louisville, Kentucky
She runs great !
The engine was rebuilt in 1945 at Fort Devens , Massachusetts.
Yes we can get a few other Czech beers here in Florida now, since a big store opened now that has quite a selection !!
Best Regards,
Ray

Hey, Ray,
it's coming.
The end of the renovation is near.
We've already had a test drive.
I'm finishing the wiring soon.
