New engine rumble

Post by Green1050 » Sun Jun 04, 2023 10:23 pm

Hi guys, I’m getting my Jeep ready for a Normandy trip at the end of the month, and after an oil and filter change I’ve noticed a rumble under load when she’s warm. Oil pressure sits between 20 and 50 depending on temperature, and I’m using straight 30 in the engine. Do I need to worried about the noise, happened twice now on four trips ?

What did you do to it between when it ran well and when it started rumbling?
And how do you know it's a she?
Post a video of the sound/rumble. If it was my jeep, the rumble would be my wife complaining about how bad the canvas seats smell.

As dpcd67 wrote, a video uploaded on Youtube would help a lot in the diagnostic.

I have received another information regarding you rumble noise.
If this is a new rebuild, main bearing shells installed incorrectly can block of oil hole starving main & associated big end bearings.
It starts as rumble noise & progresses.
If this is the case, I would stop driving the jeep immediately.
