Estimated hood number?

That was his engine number; the jeep serial number is 74K; that was October 42.

Engine number 69K is also October 42; remember that Ford numbered the frames to match engines so they were all matching originally. So yours was replaced at some point, post war I expect.
As for a registration number, there are number generators on the web, but the guy who is the world expert on Fords is Tom W; but he no longer is on G503, and I understand he has a group on Face book or something like that.
He will be able to give you intimate details, if you can contact him. Which I do not know how to do. Facebook.

I have the GPW that is four cars newer than yours
it is a 3rd or 4th week of October 1942, it should be from Chester PA assembly plant (according to Tom)
would expect that yours is the same.

as for the hood number you are on your own there.
if you try to fail and succeed, what have you done?

Cars? They weren't making cars then. All Civilian car production was halted in Feb 1942.
