Fitting SGI windshield. Need to bend it
Trying to get an SGI windshield to fit the SGI body. The angle of the forward mount is 5 degrees different from an original frame. I am looking for ideas on how to bend the SGI frame with the tools that I have. If I cannot come up with a way to bend it, I can move the mount on the body back 1/2 inch and get it to fit also. I would rather bend it, but can't seem to come up with a way to do it.

Cut a notch in it, bend it to where you want it, and weld up the seam. I have done this on exhaust systems. You only have to cut 1/3rd of the way through. V.On the inside so there is no gap.

Just a thought.
Are you sure the SGI frame is not OK and the original may be bent ??
The top of the windshield is a common place to grab when mounting and dismounting a jeep and it is not unusual to find the windshield frame sprung back a little.

Indian; Shree Ganish Industries; Only one vendor in the US, very unfortunately. Monopolies are never a good thing for any business. And I can't say his name. No one wants to stock these because the demand for WW2 jeep bodies is declining.
The guys from England say that they are better than originals. Maybe all but the windshield frame!
I have not used one. But I want to try one.

Windshield frame angle is 15 degrees and should be 66.5 inches from the rear edge of the tub. Per WEEBEE. Where all the canvas comes from!
Even my cell phone tells me angles now.

Re: Fitting SGI windshield. Need to bend it
I have used several MDJ body kits; no real issues; front fender fitment was only a medium issue on one. Slightly more hang over on one GPW one. Still, easy fixes for anyone who can restore a jeep.
But the SGI ones are much more expensive; due to the one US vendor. Indian labor rates are not more than Philippine.

If it helps, Metalshaper on youtube has 3 recent videos working with a CJ3A tub from SGI.

Re: Fitting SGI windshield. Need to bend it
My friend was struggling with the same issue on a reproduction windshield he purchased a while back so I bent it to the correct position for him using a conduit bender.
