Re: Questions about 1942 GPW
I didn’t notice the front bumper at all. The extra metal I see is welded to the rear crossmember (four pieces) and the sides of the pintle brace (one piece on each side). I don’t know what your capabilities are, but I would certainly try to do it myself.

I cut off the front bumper. The right rear sits 0.39inch higher now. Is this acceptable?
The frame is almost within specs of 3/8inch difference.

Re: Questions about 1942 GPW
Can someone help me with some dimensions?
I would like to know on what exactly position the hinges are for the windscreen. Marked on photo.
And the location of the Axe Head Sheath.
Thanks in advance!

Regards Stefan

Yes, spotwelded. You should have evidence of the locations on either piece. You could drill 7/32" (6 mm?) holes in your hinge and plug weld it.

Re: Questions about 1942 GPW
I have a 42 GPW and a 43 MB. Im doing the MB right now. I got the wiring harness for mine from Walck's Jeep parts. They also have early and late GPW harnesses. The quality is equal to the high priced harnesses offered elsewhere, but the savings!

Just another option.
