there is a cork gasket in the fel pro pan gasket package that appears to go on the bottom of the timing cover but as there is a pan gasket there is it necessary to install this cork gasket ready to close up the engine and need to know thanks old arkie

That gasket is to be used only if the front cover was removed and the pan not removed. It replaces the front part of the pan gasket that would have been ruined.

Right about that. But there is definitely no U in Armor!
