Footrest not lining up

Hi guys footrest not lining up with the captive nuts on the rear floor, should I elongate the hole on the part or drill another and use nut bolt and washers etc, the other 3 are fine.

Which part is original, the tub or the footrest. Modify the reproduction, and if neither is repop, still do the footrest, as it could have a tab welded on to it extending it VS. trashing the original tub. Worst case oval out both front and rear holes to get play for both bolts and put washer under heads.
Does it match the other footrest in distance?

Just (gently) spread the feet on the footrest till it lines up.

I had to do both mine. Using a pair of large(ish) spanner’s back to back and levering against each other did it for me.

The holes in the feet should be 2 3/8” apart.

That must have took some doing, I was thinking of using a round bastard file to create the necessary opening.

I would also want to compare it to an original for measurements, and let the vendor know how "off" they are or it will always be crap for some poor fellow to fix with the parts guys snickering about selling their crap knowing it's bad.

Just elongate Both holes; divide the error between both holes. I have a carbide tapered burr that I use all the time for such things. No one will know, or care. Not restoring the Crown Jewels. We are lucky to have the repro parts that we do; they will never be 100% perfect. Never.

It’s dead easy to open up the gap on the holes.

No filing etc needed.

Takes about 30 sec.

Thanks guys, with 3 of the 4 bolts fitted i used a bar to push the other leg over the hole and get my bolt in.

I was in JMP yesterday and mentioned this to the boss.

They are investigating.
