The other post on tires seems to be locked, so I will try to share the answer to my question myself.
The tires are ECE "E" marked with a country code of E8, which is Czech Republic.
The letters DOT without the full string does not make it a US department of transportation approved tire.
They seem to have borrowed the "Ground Grip" name from Firestone.

Yup the other thread got locked. I guess trying to add helpful information to an already existing helpful thread really upset someone. I loved the EC tire so much I ordered 4 more and they just arrived. They changed the tread pattern since I bought one last year and now I love them even more. Now they feature pencil points with no wear bars. They are now faux Goodyears for half the price.

They do look nice.
Is there a full DOT on one side?
I noticed it said 6 ply nylon. I was just curious if it was actual 6 ply. or six ply rated.

No full DOT code on either side but a new addition is a small date code on one side which the broken pencil point I bought last year didn't have. The mfg says its 6 ply and in comparison to some old US made tires the same size marked 6 ply it is about the same weight and thickness. In comparison to new 6 ply deestone tires the bead area is thicker on the deestone. Also if I remember correctly the broken pencil point was super thick definitely 6 ply, I had a hell of a time mounting it on a regular jeep rim. These new ones seem lighter than the old one, if I had to guess I would say they are probably only 4 ply. Also they are 52 lug which is interesting.Joe Friday wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 9:02 pmThey do look nice.

Who sells them? Shouldn't be that hard to answer this.

I used Google. Typed in European Classic. Found the company site, found an email and asked. Got a nice reply from a guy named Jorgen, he told me where to send money and a week later these bad boys showed up. Shipped from a Tennessee warehouse. The US distributor I used last year for the broken pencil point kept giving me the runaround and finally said there weren't any in the US and because covid they couldn't get more, which I now know was completely false.
