I acquired a very nice VR for the March 1945 MB I am building. It has a serviceable rubber gasket. I have a new cork gasket. Would the rubber gasket be period correct? If not, should I use cork anyway?
Thanks,

Re: Voltage Gasket question
Hi,
If your regulator is VRY4203G, it should be a rubber seal.
Cork was used in the earlier VRY4203A.
Scrumps.

Scrumps: thanks a lot for this info! I studied the AC Delco label for at least 15 minutes, without your numbers before me to avoid bias, used sunlight, long light, even tried raising numbers and letters with a Sharpie. Came up with a "G". I'll stick with the rubber.

Re: Voltage Gasket question
Thought MB/GPW regulators were all Autolite... all the ones I have ever had/seen were.
