Not even close, you dont have a murry frame, you have a ford made gpw frame with a botched up serial number that is incomplete.

ADam

The Willys MB frames were supplied by Midland Steel Corporation. Ford acquired 8000 frames from Midland Steel for use in early GPW production while the Murray Corporation frame was still being approved for use in GPW production. The highest serial number of a GPW stamped Midland frame is around serial number GPW-115XX. Besides the initial 8000 Midland Steel frames, Ford contracted with the Murray Corporation for frames for the remainder of GPW production. The lowest serial number of a Murray frame Ford GPW is around GPW-78XX.

The OP has a Murray style GPW frame, but I agree, the serial number does looked messed with. There should be a hole (with a threaded insert) on the side rail of the frame for the skid plate tab.

Just trying to make sure the correct information is disseminated since the OP doesn’t seem to know that a Murray frame and “Ford style” GPW frame are in fact one in the same.

GPW 7588, a Chester PA assembled VEP GPW from 1st contract has a big square nut on the inner rail for the side bolt for attaching the skid plate. It is a Willys type frame with tubular crossmember .
